Housing NWT provides access to adequate, suitable and affordable housing through the provision of housing programs and services based on need.
Job Information
The Director's Secretary position is located in Hay River and reports to the District Director. The successful incumbent is the first line of contact with the public and NWT housing clients, providing secretarial and administrative services to 11 staff in the office, ensuring various issues and information is dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
Some of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position are:
- Ability to exercise initiative and assume responsibility without direct supervision;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Knowledge of office procedures and administrative skills;
- Ability to multitask;
- Proven ability to interact with co-workers and the general public in a tactful and diplomatic manner;
- Working knowledge of filing systems, both paper and electronic files
Typically, the above skills and abilities and generally acquired through a recognized Secretarial Arts Diploma, Office Administration Diploma or Business Administration Diploma.
A minimum of One (1) year office experience is also required.
