Job Information
As the Director of Emergency Management you would play a key role in promoting disaster mitigation and prevention, emergency planning and preparedness, coordinating the GNWT’s response to supporting community governments with emergency response and recovery, and managing the territorial public alerting system. As Director, you would also provide leadership to staff responsible for delivery of a diverse suite of emergency management programs, and promoting a positive team environment where people can make a valuable and satisfying contribution. During periods of high demand and stress, you would be responsible to monitor staff to ensure morale remains high and ensure mechanisms are in place to prevent staff burnout.
