Job Information
The Community Health Licensed Practical Nurse (CHLPN) in the Tlicho Region provides comprehensive community health services to residents in Behchoko and surrounding communities. The role involves delivering non-emergency medical care and supporting core health programs such as Well-Child/Adult clinics, pre and post-natal care, chronic disease management, immunizations, and sick clinics. Services are offered in various settings, including the Health Centre, schools, community halls, and clients' homes, with a focus on promoting health, wellness, and disease prevention. The CHLPN is part of a multidisciplinary health care team and reports to the Nurse in Charge (NIC). While the LPN provides direct care, they refer complex or unfamiliar cases to higher-level nursing staff. The position aligns with the objectives of the Tlicho Community Services Agency (TCSA), which manages health, wellness, and education programs for approximately 3,000 residents in the region.
The incumbent may be required by the nurse on call to assist in treatment and monitoring of patients afterhours.
This level of knowledge is commonly acquired through the successful completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma, 2 years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting or within a northern health center. Community Health Licensed Practical Nurses must be License with the GNWT Registrar Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Labour Market Supplement
The successful incumbent will receive a $12,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $12,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $44.34 per hour to $53.96 per hour (approximately $86,463 - $105,222.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $5,599.
