This past weekend, Air Tindi was offering cheap 20-minute scenic flights around town as part of the Long John Jamboree. I hopped on-board Sunday afternoon. After skidding along the ice runway on the plane’s three skis, we were off, soaring over the jamboree and the city. We banked right around the Robertson Headframe, then headed out past Dettah for a wide loop east of the city, over lakes, trees, snowmobilers and hunting shacks. After a short touch-and-go on one of the lakes, we turned back to town flying over Giant Mine and past the airport. Here are some aerial views of the city and its surroundings from the flight, and a time-lapse video taken by Jackie Siegel.
